The Content Based Image Retrieval basically has a database from which the image is retrieved, using the similarity metrics like the shape, texture and color. This technique easily solves the problem of finding the digital images. The Content Based Image Retrieval is also known as the Content Based Visual Information Retrieval and Query by Image Content. Normally, the search is done using the metadata, keywords and tags. In the technique of Content Based Image Retrieval, the search is done mainly with the content, images and color.

Earlier QBIC (Query by Image Content) was very commonly used in the Content Based Image Retrieval system, which was developed by IBM. Basically here one needs to search with shape, texture and color. The Content Based Image Retrieval is used in various fields like Architectural and engineering design, Intellectual property, Photograph archive, Textiles Industry, etc. Find some more information regarding the Content Based Image Retrieval in the attached file.
